Τhe time has come for the first summer excursion. Our destination is the island of Αndros next to Athens just an hour and forty-five minutes from the port of Rafina .
Andros (Greek: Άνδρος,) is the northernmost island of the Greek Cyclades archipelago, about 10 km (6 mi) southeast of Euboea, and about 3 km (2 mi) north of Tinos. It is nearly 40 km (25 mi) long, and its greatest breadth is 16 km (10 mi). It is for the most part mountainous, with many fruitful and well-watered valleys.[1] The municipality, which includes the island Andros and several small, uninhabited islands, has an area of 380 km2 (146.719 sq mi).[2] The largest towns are Andros (town), Gavrio, Batsi, and Ormos Korthiou.
The island is famous for its Sariza spring at Apoikia, where the water flows from a sculpted stone lion's head. Palaeopolis, the ancient capital, was built into a steep hillside, and the breakwater of its harbor can still be seen underwater. Andros also offers great hiking options

Living close to nature our aim is to discover small treasures of the island . We choose to stay for two nights in a camp located in Gavrio the port of the island Andros Camping.
Τhe route to the city of the island is fantastic of course the best time to take the route is in the sunset where the sun will disappear deep into the Aegean Sea . . .
The island is famous for its beaches with crystal clear waters. Unfortunately, we were unable to explore all the beaches of the island. But we chose the best ones based on the weather conditions prevailing on the island these days.
Access to the famous beaches is easy. but in the northern part of the island the road was cramped. I suggest jeep or enduro motobike not scooter !!
Tis Grias to Pidima Beach
Zorkos Beach
Megali Peza Beach
Andros is one of the few islands on the Aegean sea that combines the mountain with the sea.
Many visitors explore the many paths of the island. The most famous path is in Apoikia Village .

Just 1km walking from the village of Apoikia, via a very easy path.It features a small waterfall and some ponds that you may relax by. We hiked there from Chora (Andros Route 2),
Waterfalls of Pytharas
Τhe city Of Andros is picturesque
From the architecture of the city's houses you realize the richness of the island. Most of the island's inhabitants are sailors, as well as hydric members of large shipping companies.

I believe in the end we did it well !!
